Commercially Developed Instrument (CDI) Project (100 Points): This is an individual assignment. Each student will be assigned a Commercially Developed Instrument (CDI) by the instructor to use as the basis for this project. Students will research and provide details, in the form of a PowerPoint, on each of the following:
· Website for instrument or for place that houses it (i.e., Higher Education Research Institute: HERI)
· History of instrument (when possible)
· Relationship to a student development theory (when possible)
· Description of instrument
· Use of instrument (population administered to, what questions does it answer, etc.).
· Type of questionnaire
· Number of questions
· Reliability
· Validity
· Cost of Instrument
· Sample of the Instrument (or perhaps one photocopied page, a sampling of two or three questions)
· One outside review of instrument with reference information from a reliable source (e.g., scholarly article, scholarly book, textbook, etc.,
· The technologies that are used and associated with your CDI
Presentation Guidelines:

Use Microsoft PowerPoint to create your presentation.
· Students should be creative in their approach to this assignment and incorporate appropriate images and technology (e.g., YouTube video clip, etc.) to enhance the presentation.
*Please be mindful that student affairs professionals will need to know how to effectively use various forms of technology and social media in their jobs.
