Assignment 4: Mock Interview

This assignment is due by the end of module thirteen.

Purpose

Preparing, practicing and reflecting on interviews will support you in improving your interview skills.

Explanation of tasks

In module 8, you selected a job posting to which you tailored your resume and cover letter. In module 11, you carried on the analysis of that posting to predict interview questions and prepare written responses. During modules 11, 12, and 13, you worked on a series of worksheets to help you prepare for interviews. In this assignment, you will be submitting your preparation activities as well as practicing them by conducting a peer reviewed mock interview and then reflecting on your performance.

Note: In class attendance is required to complete this assignment.

Prior to completing the tasks, be sure to review the attached rubrics.

Interview Practice

Part One

Now you will be conducting a mock interview with a peer. Your partner will ask you the predicted questions and you will share your STAR responses. You will both receive and provide feedback to your partner. The feedback form will be submitted in class after the interview assessment.

On the day of the in class mock interview, you must be prepared by:

1) Have your predicted interview questions printed to be shared with your partner.

2) Be prepared to answer all of your predicted interview questions in the STAR methodology.

3) Bring a copy of your up to date resume and cover letter

Part Two

The next part of this assignment is to share your feedback with your partner. On the day of the mock interview assessment, your professor will hand you a copy of the (below) feedback form. Please take a few minutes after each mock interview to complete this form. These will be handed in at the end of class.
