What it locates: Sources that have your search words in source text.

What to enter (example): allintext: fracking oil

allinurl:

What it locates: Sources that have your search words in the URL or web

address.

What to enter (example): allinurl: fracking oil

author:

What it locates: Articles on the Internet written by the author you specify.

What to enter (example): author: john doe OR [email protected]

filetype:

What it locates: Files on the Internet that end in the suffix you specify.

What to enter: fracking oil filetype:pdf OR fracking oil filetype:doc

source:

What it locates: Articles from publication that you specify.

What to enter (example): fracking oil source: nytimes.com

site:

What it locates: Results from the site or domain you specify.

What to enter: admissions site:cypress.edu OR census site:.gov

GUIDELINES: 1. Notice some operators must be placed before your search words

2. Notice some operators have a space after the colon but some do not.

3. The Uniform Resource Locator, more commonly known as URL, is
