Introduction

The society is changing the perception people have towards their image. Most of them ensure that they change their physics and psychological backgrounds to fit in the changing perceptions of the society. The media has contributed to the different crimes and deliquesce existing in the society. Therefore, sex exists as a contribution of the purported content of the media in the society. The youths are not safe if their parents fail to influence their lives positively to appreciate their bodies amidst influence from different sources of information in their living surroundings.

Description of the Essay at Hand

The first story focuses on Amy L. Becky from Greenwich, Connecticut. She writes about the people struggling with perfect body images. Domestic abuse and eating disorders serve as the outcome of a society that demands perfection. The media has shown that the society demands either tall and thin women or muscular and chiseled men being models. Advertisements and marketing campaigns have cemented the above ideas on the youths, who think that they should have a perfect body to meet the demands of media content. The situation has seen many youths struggling to lose weight to gain some abs. They suffer from depression since they lack the capacity to meet these demands. The situation also sees the failure of parents to communicate with their growing children about the importance of remaining faithful to ideas relating to their body shape and fashion sense. “Parents have an obligation to their children to help safely guide them to become to become healthy adults,” reiterates the writer. Without parents being in a position to advise their children, they grow up to become confused adults because they may lack the capacity to define their image and perception about themselves.

The second story focuses on the perception people have towards sex. Sex is a product that everyone in the society appreciates and wants to be associated with all the time. However, the woman acts as a victim through the various challenges experienced in her living and working environment. The media objectification of the perfect woman has placed women in danger, as men possess increased exposure to pornography. Either women may deny themselves food or they may consume huge amounts of dietary content to enable themselves to become sexy and to promote pornography. The eating habits among women have turned them into robots since they lack a control of their general lifestyle. They confuse between what is right and wrong.

The story continues by focusing on different crimes committed against women before they come for treatment in the hospital setting. Women experience physical and sexual violence from their men on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. The lack of satisfaction from the men viewed the women they mistreat as being misfits since they lack the capacity to meet the demands of the model on television. The men have a conditioned way of thinking influenced by pornography in the media. Sexual imagery purported by the media (pornography focusing) has objectified women as being sex tools, which influences men to look at them as such.

Conclusion

Lack of the media and its influence on the general society serves as the main cause of the problems that exist today. The youth may have developed a different idea about their physics if the media had not created the idea of a perfect model through marketing initiatives and advertisements. Men would not batter their women if they had not seen the ideal sex through the media. The global society would have a different perception towards sex, culture, and development if it were not for the content placed on them by the media.
