The living environment chosen was assisted living and a memory care unit. Based on the case study, Ruby is more independent and can live in an assisted living facility where as Irving was not eligible due to his mild dementia diagnosis. Although Ruby has purchased a life care contract, she is able to stay in assisted living but Irving is not. It would be best to keep Ruby at her assisted living facility and place Irving in a memory care unit in a facility that specializes in Dementia care. Ruby is not able to care for Irving because of the progression of the Dementia even though she thinks she can.

XII. Conclusion

In conclusion, there are many changes coming in healthcare and that is because many people are more concerned about educating themselves about their healthcare. There are so many choices for the elderly when it comes to where they can live. The regulations that govern the different living environments are always changing to ensure that employees are properly trained. Many elderly depend on the government and state reimbursements to help pay for their care and healthcare.
