Case Study: Inconsistency and lack of communication

The purpose of this team assignment is to write a Case Study. A case study can be described as a written presentation of a “problem that needs to be addressed or… a story of success that has to be shared and publicized…[and can be related to] a single individual, group or any other entity but it can carry the power of representing facts of a whole area” (fundsforngos, 2012, para. 1).

Team members will identify a leadership problem in the workplace: Inconsistency and lack of Communication 

After familiarizing yourself with the scope and purpose of a case study using the below resources, prepare a case study using the steps outlined in Making a Business Case for Change Management (Prosci, n.d.). Be sure to provide background, data, and other information related to the case. Do not present the solution to the problem within the case itself but provide your suggestions at the end of the case.

1. Executive summary:

a. Briefly – no more than two paragraphs- describe the issue or topic addressed in your case study.

Remember : Issue should relate to the workplace.

2. Situational assessment and problem statement:

a. Provide a description about the nature of the situation or issue and its implication in the context of the setting. (What is happening?- briefly, two-three sentences)

b. State the problem in one sentence.

i. Example: “The problem is the need for technology training to operate the new program system.”

3. Project description:

a. State the proposed actions (no more than three) to take in order to address the situation. (The proposed actions are …)

b. Solution

i. Clearly state the key solution to resolve and address the issue. (State: The proposed solution is …)

4. Cost-benefit analysis

a. Provide a description about the cost involved and the concurrent benefits related to the implementation of the solution. Be specific.

i. Example: “The benefits emerging from the implementation are … (one or two benefits)”; “The cost is estimated to be ….”

5. Present a SWOT analysis about the proposed solution (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats). Use a brief narrative or fill out the matrix below.
