COPD is a respiratory condition affecting a significant number of individuals aged 40 and above worldwide. According to the Mayo (Clinic, 2020), general manifestations and symptoms of COPD include, breathing shortness, wheezing, chronic cough with sputum, chest tightness among others. Similarly, in the case analysis, a 45-years old patient presents similar symptoms, accommodating the fundamental need for cardiovascular and cardiopulmonary manifestations’ pathophysiology explanations. Admittedly, as a COPD patient in the case, presentation on shortness in breathing and heavy sputum with difficulties in expectoration result from damaged lung airways and tiny air sacs in the lungs.
Similarly, mucus production results from inflamed lung airways, causing bronchitis and production of heavy mucus and difficulty in expectoration as shown by the 45-years old patient in the case presentation. the physical diagnosis from CXR flattened digraph, increased AP diameter, hyper resonance, course rales, and rhonchi through the lungs results from lung airways damaged and alveoli damaged, making them less elastic, hence the difficulty in exhalation (Gundry, 2019). Thus, symptoms present clinical and pathophysiologic processes and explanations.
The Uncommon genetic factors such as alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency articulate to family background family genetic presentation on COPD causes. Additionally, genes, exposure to particles, old age from physiological obstruction, and low-socioeconomic status, accommodating multiple components are ethic-based variables, leading to risk factors (Brashler and Kodgule, 2012). For instance, race disparity and socioeconomic statuses induce individuals to exposures to particles smoke and other forms as fundamental risk factors in COPD. Similarly, ethnic groups with an aging population present reduced physiologic function such as physiological obstruction, leading to an abnormal condition such as COPD among the patients. Therefore, accommodating ethical discrepancies is underscoring in COPD case management.
