I am looking forward to accomplishing the data collection task for my project and this process requires much effort and preparedness. The data collection methods that I will use include the questionnaires and interviews targeting the IT staff in five organizations within my community. There are various items that I need to accomplish the assignment, and this include sourcing the information about the appropriate time that I would get the staff to interview and also the procedure needed to book an appointment with them. The process looks simple, but most times the staff has work to attend to. The information that I also need is to know the organizations time that the staff might be free to assist in collecting data about their operations and issues of cybersecurity. In addition, I need to research about the best way to develop the relevant and impressive questionnaires that would assist in having the best feedback that is necessary in getting the findings that I needed for the project (Blankenship, et al., 2019). The development of the questionnaires that is the structure of the questions and also the questions necessary for the interview and this would ensure that I have a perfect survey process that would give credible and trusted primary data.

I would also consider having an alternative especially when I find that an organization cannot allow researchers into the facility during this time of the pandemic as a way of protecting their staff from contracting the disease. An online survey would help much in minimizing the cost of travel and also guarantee that I would finish the task based on the timeline. However, I would interview two staff members per organization and that means that I need various copies of the questionnaire and interview questions. The interview questions would be necessary just specifically for physical interviews when the companies accept my appointment to visit the facilities. At the end of the week, I would be having all the needed data for the project. The barriers that I might encounter are the failure of the organization management to approve my appointment targeting on interviewing the IT staff. The other barrier is the failure of the participant to respond to the online questionnaires or even responding to them late would interfere with my plans and objectives. The final barrier that might affect the assignment is the participants offering irrelevant data in the questionnaires or even lie about issues that are in the public domain making the research to lack credibility.
