instead of the final exam 2.  Do a Capstone Project in

addition to the final exam, for up to 15 points Extra Credit on your final grade

3.  Omit the Capstone Project entirely

•  How a specific company or industry manages financial risk

•  Sources of funding for small business

•  Risks and benefits of financial leverage

•  Uses and/or abuses of financial derivatives

•  Implementation of microfinance

•  Opportunities and drawbacks of specific careers in finance

•  Specific examples of finance in literature or film

These are just Examples Really, anything you’re interested in that’s

somehow related to finance is okay!

A Non-traditional “Un-essay” An unessay is any form or medium whose content demonstrates knowledge of your topic. Some possibilities:

•  If your unessay is nonverbal, you must also submit a brief paragraph, 100 words or so, explaining how your project demonstrated your learning.

Make a Proposal

•  To take advantage of this exciting offer you must submit a brief proposal, around 150 words, of what you plan to do no later than Thursday, October 30.

•  Feel free to discuss any ideas, however crazy they may seem, with me.

•  You should plan on a project requiring

effort equivalent to that of a short essay

•  If you choose an unessay, I will ask you to complete a brief questionnaire about your “unessay experience.”
