Module 6: Capstone Assignment Part 3 Assignment

1. Write a literature review with at least 7 sources on the topic/component you have chosen. Two of your sources may come from the articles in the course. Additionally, an efficient way to find sources will be to review the references found in the text. (Due in Module 2)

2. Based on your experience in higher education (either as a practitioner or as a student), do you feel the literature covers all the bases needed to adequately explain this development? What does your personal/professional experience tell you that the literature might not clearly illustrate? Why is awareness of these additional concepts important? In addition to this assignment, add another two sources to your literature review. Use this assignment to better inform your working literature review. (Due in Module 4)

3. Based on your literature review and personal/professional experience, draft your own working theory of student development in this area, making sure to justify your thoughts. Also, add at least one other source to the working draft of the literature review. (Due in Module 6)

The point of this capstone is to compare your professional (or personal) experience (this is basically component 2 that you did last week) with what the literature says (which is what you did in week 3). Taking both of these into consideration,  you are to form your own working theory.

ATTACHED: Please see the example that is in the contents page of week 6. So, if I find a literature on a theory that says one thing, but my professional experience working with students actually points to something different, I would use that "difference" to form my own theory.
