Word Assignment Malika Foster is the sales manager for Solana Homes, a gated community in suburban Chicago. She wants to
emphasize the community’s commitment to environmentally friendly practices, such as recycling, so she has
written a flyer to include in the packet of information she gives each potential homebuyer. Now she needs
your help to finish it. The finished flyer should match the one shown in the figure below.

1. Open the file Capstone_Word_DataFile.docx and then save it as Capstone_Word_YourName.
2. Change the document margins to Narrow, and then, where indicated in the document, insert
continuous section breaks. Remember to delete each instance of the highlighted text “[Insert SECTION
BREAK]” before you insert a section break.
3. In section 2, change the left margin to 3 inches, and then format section 4 in four columns.
4. Change the font size of the names in section 4 to 10.5.
5. Format the second paragraph in the document (“Recycle, Reuse, Renew”) as WordArt, using the
Gradient Fill: Dark Green, Accent color 1; Reflection style (second from the left in the middle row of the
WordArt gallery). Change the text box height to 0.7 inches and the width to 7.5 inches. Change the text
wrapping setting to Top and Bottom and fix its position on the page. If necessary, drag the WordArt
down below the first paragraph (“Solana Homes: Creating a Community”). Don’t be concerned if the
WordArt overlaps and is positioned below the section break line.
6. Insert drop caps that drop two lines in the first paragraph after the “Solana Builds Recycling Pavilion”
heading and in the first paragraph after the “Hazardous Waste Collection” heading.
7. Click in the fourth paragraph in the document (the one with the drop cap “W”), and then insert a
preformatted text box using the Grid Sidebar option. Change the text wrapping setting for the text box
to In Front of Text, and then change its height to 2.8 inches and its width to 2.3 inches.
8. Drag the text box to position it in the white space on the left side of the page, and then align its top
border with the “Solana Builds Recycling Pavilion” heading.
9. Delete the title placeholder text in the text box, and type Recycling Bins. Delete the placeholder
paragraphs, and insert the text of the Word document Bins.docx. Delete any extra blank paragraphs.
10. In the blank space below the text box, draw a rectangular text box. When you are finished, adjust the
height and width to make the text box 1.3 inches tall and 2 inches wide. Apply the Moderate Effect –
Turquoise, Accent 1 shape style (second from the left in the second row from the bottom in the
Themes Styles section), and then position the text box as shown in the figure above, leaving room for
the graphic you will add later.
11. In the text box, type Many hazardous wastes can be recycled. Align the text in the middle of the text
box, and then use the Center button on the Home tab to center the text between the text box’s left
and right borders.
12. At the end of the fifth paragraph (which begins “Recycling bins will also be installed...”), insert the
picture Earth.png.
13. Change the alt text to Recycle logo and crop the picture to an oval shape.
14. Apply Square text wrapping, fix its position on the page, and then change its height to 1 inch. Drag the
picture to position it so the first line of the fifth paragraph wraps above it, as shown in the figure.

15. At the end of the first paragraph below the “Hazardous Waste Collection” heading, insert the picture
Sorting.png.
16. Change the alt text to Recycling bins and then change the picture’s height to 1.3 inches.
17. Apply In Front of Text text wrapping, add the Drop Shadow Rectangle picture style and then position
the picture in the left margin, centered between the two text boxes, with a fixed position on the page,
as shown in the figure.
18. Balance the columns at the end of the flyer.
19. In the last line of the document, replace “Boris Andre Nesaule” with your first and last names. Take
care not to delete the section break by mistake.
20. Make any adjustments necessary so that your newsletter matches the one shown in the figure and
then save the document.
21. Submit the completed file to Blackboard.
