Canvas: How to Embed a Kaltura Video

Introduction

This training document will demonstrate how to embed a Kaltura video and upload a video presentation into your Canvas course for assignment submission.

How to Submit a Video Presentation using the Embed Kaltura Media Process

Step 1: Once the assignment page opens, the recommended method to add a video is to use the Embed Kaltura Media options. To begin, click the Embed Kaltura Media icon. Then proceed to Step 4.

Step 2: If you do not see the Embed Kaltura Media option from the drop-down menu, click Embed Kaltura Media from the list.

Step 3: If you do not see Embed Kaltura Media from the drop-down menu, click View All, and then click Embed Kaltura Media from the list.

Step 4: The Embed Kaltura Media window will open. There are three options to choose from:

▪ To upload an existing video from your computer, click the + Add New button, then click Media Upload, and select the video you want to embed.

▪ To record a video directly from your computer, click Express Capture and a new window will open, allowing you to record.

▪ You can select an existing video from the list and then click Embed.

Step 5: The video file is now embedded and will load into the Canvas rich content editor.

Step 6: After embedding the video, Save or Publish the item you are working on.
