Because campus sexual assault continues to be a significant issue in campuses all across America, it is vital to understand how male and female perpetrators and victims are treated.
Upon successful completion of this assignment, you will be able to:
· Describe the fine balance required in protecting the rights of both the accuser and the accused in cases of campus sexual assault.

Instructions
1. Review the rubric to make sure you understand the criteria for earning your grade.
2. Read Chapter 8 from our textbook.
3. Using the Internet, research and carefully consider a case involving sexual assault on a college campus.
4. Write a two to three-page (or 1,000-1,500 word) paper that addresses the following:
a. How was the investigation of this assault handled?
b. Was the victim treated appropriately?
c. Was the suspect provided appropriate due process rights including a presumption of innocence?
d. Would the outcome have been different in your opinion if the sex of the victim and perpetrator had been reversed? What about if the victim and perpetrator were of the same sex?
5. Make sure that your assignment is in proper APA format.
6. When you have completed your assignment, save a copy for yourself and submit a copy to your instructor by the end of the workshop.
