Cambodian 2

Section one

When looking at the social interaction of the Cambodians, there are various things that I got to consider that would aid me in coming up with a better understanding of these people. The first thing I had to go to various sites online to look at their way of life and how they get to interact with each other. I also tend to have one of my friends who is a Cambodian, and therefore it makes it easy to understand them well. What I got online was the same as information as to that I received from my friend. My selected are more civilized, and they come up from communities whereby they value family that much and they think by sharing they will be able to achieve the key objective. The other thing with these community is the community that they are friendly and are never jealousy in anything. Its members are more civilized, and they tend to protect their images.

When conducting the dialogues, there are various things that I got to consider that would help me come up with a detailed explanation of how the whole process works. I got online and searched for various details on the Cambodian people and how well they interacted with each other. I got to view some of the cultural videos and how well they conduct their activities. I also read many articles concerning the Cambodian people. The articles are well detailed summarizing how well the Cambodian people get to interact with each other. The articles and the videos that I got to watch online enlightened me how well the Cambodians get to interact with each other and how they treat each other. From the materials, it was easy to come up with a detailed overview of the group and how they handle their things. I observed that they value their image a lot be it of the community or that of the family.

Section two

The selected population that I am going to talk about in this research paper are the Cambodian. The Cambodian coms from the country known as Cambodia. It is a country that is located within the Indochinese mainland that is located in southeast Asia. The country is covered by plains, and it has got great rivers that are all over, and it has a river that connects different routes such as India and China. It also connects to southeast Asia. The country, in this case, is influenced by different cultures all over the places, which makes it one of the best countries that gave rise to the Cambodian people. The other thing to note about these group is the fact that they are resilient people across the earth. They got to experience poverty, torture and horror. But they have always remained to be wellspring, friendly and courteous. The Cambodian people are more smiley and welcoming at all times. They have the best compliments whenever someone gets to visit them at all times, and they are cool-tempered. They are always ready and calm in the manner that one can easily get along with them. They are full of laughter and fun, and it is difficult for them wrong anyone. They know how to treat their visitors right, and they do not easily get mad over petty things. They often have ways on how they get to welcome their visitors in a more friendly way and in the manner that someone will feel welcomed at all times. I have got to observe the fact that the Cambodian are calmer and they never take that serious. They know how well to handle different situations and how they can treat other human beings. I, therefore, love the fact that the Cambodian have always been therefore for each and they have different ways on how they support each other since they live as brothers and sisters and they have unity among them (Stevens, 1990).

Values/beliefs

The Cambodian have got different values that they get to follow as a group. One of the key values of the Cambodian group is the family. They value family more than anything else. Their way is very different from that of the western world. But in other ways, it is the same as that of the western culture. It is one of the aspects of their culture. It is one of the bases of the commitment within the community, and it is the one that ties the group outside their family. So, the Cambodian, in this case, is very committed with their families and they get to take good care of their families. The father is the head of the family, and he takes care of his family at all times. The woman takes the role of ensuring that she takes to cater to the house. They also value children a lot. They also value their extended families as they maintain a strong connection with all their family members.

The company also a strong belief by the fact that they need to keep time always/. They do not do it the western way but have got different ways on how they get to keep time. One of the first things is the fact that they are event focused. The belief that they need to be in some place at the right time before they get late. They always ensure that they are punctual and never late at any cost. They do not keep time as if it is time for lunch, then they all get to take their meals at the right time. They always follow the right producers and the events of the day. For instance, if they are conducting an event and it is time for all of them to have their meals, then they will all take their meals. They may take earlier or late, depending on the schedule of the day. The Cambodians get to do their thing in a more organically way and more intuitive. They do not need to schedule themselves but come up with the right manner in which they get to themselves without having to follow the right time.

The other thing that the Cambodian strongly believe in getting to maintain a strong relationship with people. They tend to focus more on the interpersonal relationship in the manner that they will get to determine how they will priories their time. They tend to focus more on interesting concepts at all times in the sense that it makes them feel comfortable across other people. They do not get to lie on others as well as having high hopes that cannot be fulfilled at any point. They, therefore, focus more on a single relationship which is more long-lasting and one which can be trusted by most of their members.

The Cambodian group also get to live a simple life that has got no much accountability. It is more of a fatalistic outlook. They get to define some of their daily activities by looking at daily activities. Individuals get to resign depending on the kind of challenges that they get to face on daily. They never helped anything, and they have the right way in which they get to handle different things. They, therefore, follow some of the things that will make them happy at all times. They do not buy anything that will not create happiness and peace.

Social interactions

When looking at the social interactions among these groups, one of the key things is that it based more of an individual level. They tend to look at the age of someone, the level of education and how they get to work. These three groups have various ways of how they get to interact with each other. The same way as agemates more those that are 15 years interact is very different from thirty-year-old people. The other thing is that the way workmates get to interact is very different from those who are not working get to interact. It can also be pointed oily the fact the way as to how one gets to walk, sit will be a great determinant on how well they will get to interact with each other. They will also get to focus more on the social status of some people, which will be a key Significant on how well these people will get to interact with each other. The Cambodian, in most cases, are not known to ask other people questions asking them to describe themselves or how well they get to address each other (Lucas, 1993).

The Cambodians have also been stated over the sense to have a sense of family. They have a close connection with their families, and they ensure that they create a better relation first before anything else. They have much pride for their families, district and villages. Whenever you meet a Cambodian, they will automatically state where they come from, and you will be able to notice the fact that they come from a given region. The other thing is that they form a collective society whereby they strongly emphasis on being loyal and also getting to honour the family. The other thing about this group is the fact that they have a great sense of loyalty towards one’s friends and families in the manner that it cannot be jeopardized with the social rules. The Cambodians do not joke with the various social rues and the interest of the different collective groups, and they are always responsible. The extended families or the community is much respected as it defines someone on where they come from and how they get to interact with others depends on where they come from. The individual in most has less privacy as they have a role in representing their families and communities well. They are seen as the mirror of the community and ensure that they get to create a better image among the people. So, in this case, the people from this community have different ways on how they get to interact with each depending on their status in life and where they come from. The key thing is how well they get to bond with each and how we’ll they get to create a connection with some of their peers. It all depends on the social setting and how people have been brought and how well they can get to represent their families as well as their communities better (Men, 2002).

Religious/ spiritual beliefs

The Cambodians also have great respect for religion. About 96.9 of them are Buddhist, and the other population are millions and Christians. They get to practice Theravada Buddhism. They get to take refuge in the triple gem whereby it gets to come up with a sense of society and offers the right structure among the people. They understand the fact that the buddha is their God and they, therefore, worship it at all times. They respect it more and always give their offerings. They also have the nuns and monks who have been ordained to conduct the work of Buddhism. They act as spiritual leaders, and they always give spiritual guidance and ensure that they give guidance to the people. They advise the people on spiritual matters and always tell them what is right and wrong. They also believe the fact that men have a higher chance in the community to get monk education. They believe the fact that they are the ones that have been ordained to conduct spiritual work at all times. They know the fact that men can leave their homes and families to go and conduct the server buddha across the country. The people of Cambodian also believe the fact that by having a son who will come who has been called to work as a monk is a blessing to the family, it will end up bringing karma to the family and the family will have so many blessings.

They also believe the fact that the Buddhist temple is one of the central places of the community that gives life. They often get to visit the temple during their free times and also during the holidays. They receive blessings for the monks even during the time of weddings, funerals and weddings. For the Buddhist who will fail to visit the temples during the holidays, they will have a chance of celebrating or worshipping through the small temples that are close to their homes.

The people in this country also believe in helping others. There are so many fewer unfortunate people within this group and to whom needs guidance at all times and also to help. The Buddhist people, therefore, get to contribute to the less fortunate. They come up with food and clothing, and at times they provide them with money. Through this, they will be able to continue with the work of buddha and ensure that they create equity within the society (Lew, 1991).

Roles and expectations

Cambodians believe that women and men have equal rights. But in other cases, men are considered to be higher than the women. Women are compared to pieces of wool as men are treasured like diamonds. When looking at this, the wool can get dirty, and it will not be clean at any point, but for a diamond even if it is dropped in maid, it will be picked up washed and still contain its value. The women who are sexually active outside their marriages are considered to be dirty. The women serve as the role model to their children more so the daughters. The women are considered to be naïve creatures and quite as they’re supposed to move with the sound. Both males and females are valued in society. Women are considered to be more responsible than males. Boys are taught to exhibit better behaviours in society, and they are always supposed to be stronger like the ones who will protect the family and the community.

Language and communication

The Cambodians speak the Khmer language which is also referred to as the Cambodian. It is the official language of the community. They have different ways of how they get to communicate. They mostly engage in indirect communication where questions are expressed with vague terms more so when coming up with negative topics. They tend to smile much, and they nod so as they can keep the interaction. They have different ways in which they agree whereby 'YES' can have various means whereby it can show that someone is listening or someone has understood the subject at hand. They also get to complement each other whenever they are people are communicating with each other.
