States can’t make laws without lawmakers, right?

Every state has a group of lawmakers called a legislature. In California, the legislature is made up of two parts just like the U.S. Congress. The two parts are even called by the same names as the U.S. Congress — the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Then answer these questions in the response section below: 

1) How many legislators (members) are there in each part? 

2) Go to the "Bill Information" section and look at pending legislation for 2019-2020 (note- if you hit "search" all legislation will come up in alphabetical order). First, describe one piece of legislation that is pending (hint- they explain it at the beginning of the legislation). Second, discuss whether or not you think the legislation is a good idea. Why or why not?
