You are required to write an essay on the topic:

Outline the elements of a typical business plan and critically review the benefits of the business planning process. 

Your essay should include relevant business concepts and theory as well as examples from practice.

Guidance

· Word document, in English.

· Double spacing please.

· Please ensure that pages are numbered.

· The cover page should bear your name, your Student ID Number and the course name/code. You should also note the complete assignment question on this page.

· This is an individual piece of work. You should include a statement confirming that it is your own work.

· Length is between 1500 (mimimum) and 2000 words (maximum) excluding title page and reference list.

· Your essay should include an abstract or executive summary and a reference list. Other than that, you are free to subdivide, use section headings etc in order to state your case more clearly.

· Diagrams or graphics which support your argument are acceptable.

· Referencing, as with all coursework, should be in Harvard format.

Deadline

· One copy to be submitted via Turnitin no later than noon on Friday 24 August 2020.

· A section labelled “August Submission” will be available in the Assessment area of VISION.

Notes

· You have approximately 4 weeks to complete the essay.

· You have access to all class materials and to the recommended text, Burns.

· For those students whose Mitigating Circumstances were accepted, this will be recorded as a first attempt.

· For those students who did not submit Mitigating Circumstances, this will be logged as a second attempt.

· This single piece of work will constitute the entire mark for your course.

· Marking criteria

The essay will be marked out of 100, according to the following criteria.
