Marketing Issues
According to Zarah (2010), a hospital’s choice to the patients is dependent on various factors. First, the quality of the medical services provided is the key factor that makes the patients selects a particular hospital. The CW Williams community center hospital is relatively small as compared to the neighboring health facilities including the Carolina’s medical center, Charlotte memorial hospital, and Novant health facility center. All the other three hospitals are large than the CW William community center and they also offer better medical services than the CW William and therefore, more people are attracted to such hospitals than the CW center. Secondly, facilities and accessibility are also important marketing elements for a business organization. This is because the availability of enough facilities including the hospital beds allows the patients or the consumers to feel comfortable when accessing the medical services. Lack of enough finance is a challenge to the operations of the CW Williams hospital and hence, the health facility has not been able to expand adequately and match with the standards of their competitors. Ginter and Swayne (2018) note that for a hospital to attract more patients, it must have sufficient and high-standard resources that will convince the customers to access its services. On the other hand, there is inadequate IT infrastructure at the CW Williams hospitals. The IT infrastructure including websites helps a hospital to sell its brand to various customers especially on various online platforms including websites. Furthermore, they help to advertise the products of a healthcare facility. This is a common challenge at the CW Williams hospital as most customers are currently unaware of the services that are offered at the healthcare facility (C.W. Williams, 2020). Although technology is expensive, the health center should try its best to introduce online medical platforms including Electronic health records systems to improve the patient experience and also boost their marketing services.
Human resource aspects
Human resource is a very important aspect of the day-to-day management of a hospital. The CW Williams hospital overlies on volunteer medical providers and therefore, the problem is manifested in the daily operations of the hospital. Sanchez (2015) notes that for a hospital environment to function properly there must be adequate human resource personnel to allow flexibility in various work operations. The current shortage of health personnel at the CW Williams hospital means that the few health care workers are overworked at the facility. This will in turn affect the quality of performance at the hospital. Sanchez (2015) notes that the shortage of health personally assists in the rotation and exchange duties among the health care providers, as a strategy that currently lacks at the CW Williams Hospital. On the other hand, adequate healthcare personnel is also required to conduct training and development programs for the current employee workforce or the new employee being recruited at the hospital. However, at the CW Williams hospital (C.W. Williams, 2020) notes that there are inadequate training and development programs to conduct training programs for the available healthcare workers.
On the other hand, human resource personnel not only involve the health care providers (Sharma, and Goyal, 2020). They also include the entire workforce that helps in the daily management of a hospital setting. Sharma and Goyal (2020) note that having adequate human resources helps a hospital to achieve its objectives very easily. The CW hospital currently lacks enough personnel who can run other sectors of the hospital including IT services. Therefore, it will be very difficult for the organization to achieve its goals of providing quality medical services to its patients. Furthermore, Sharma and Goyal (2020) note that the CW Williams hospital lacks enough finances to outsource such crucial services.
