Behavioral IEP Objectives

Increasing Behavior Goal

After the beginning of every lesson, (Change your condition to when receiving academic instruction…) the student will refrain from bothering other students by patting their backs or tickling them when they are engaged in the learning process the student will staying on task and in his or her desk in at least 4 lessons out of the 6 lessons in a week. (this equates to 66% of the time is that what you want to aim for?)

Baseline: The student currently stays on task and in his or her desk in a maximum of 2 lessons out of the 6 lessons in a week.

Short-Term Objectives

1. When receiving lesson instructions and given an assignment, the student will demonstrate staying in his or her desk and on task behavior by staying quietly focusing on his or her assignment and performing the task for at least 4 out of the 6 weekly lessons.

2. The student will maintain eye contact while receiving instructions from the teacher and stay in his or her desk and on task the entire period of each lesson. (This doesn’t really align to your goal)

Decreasing Behavior Goal

After the beginning of every lesson in every week(Change your condition to when receiving academic instruction…), the student will refrain from bothering or distracting the other students by patting their backs or tickling them when they are engaged in the learning process to a maximum of 1 instance of distraction in a week (Define the criteria more quantatively)

Baseline: The student currently disrupts other students by wandering, invading their personal space, patting their backs and tickling them in 4 or 5 lessons (is it 4 or 5, which one is it?) out of the 6 lessons in a week.

Short-Term Objectives

1. The student will remain appropriately seated and on task until given permission by the teacher to do otherwise or seek permission prior to leaving his or her seat to interact with peers in the classroom (This is not a decreasing STO-this would align to your increasing goal).

2. Given verbal instructions not to leave his or her seat and wander around the class patting and tickling other students during a lesson, the student will be able to interact with the other students during free time, break time, lunch time or between classes. (This is not a decreasing STO-this would align to your increasing goal).
