Business Situation

A local non-for-profit organization is facing 2 IT related issues. The first one is fundraising and data analytics technology issue. The second one is media and public relations issue. The mission of this organization is enable young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens especially the young people who come from low-income families (Per NCCP, children living in families with incomes below this level-$48,678 for a family of four with two children in 2016-are referred to as low income). This organization will keep all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for future, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle.

First, this organization has limited power to fundraising in person. They do not have enough budget to hire a lot of employees or third-party to do the fundraising work. Most of their time will be contribute into day-to-day organization’s operation. They need to make sure all young people are taken care well. Therefore, they may need data analytics technologies which can help them to analyze donors’ data for future fundraising. They did some research online, 57% of nonprofits are facing this issue. If they have more effective data analyzing professionals/software, they will provide investors more concise information and it will help investors to make faster decisions based on results that they have already analyzed.

Second, they do not have many methods which can broadcast their advertisements to potential donors. They always need to find better media and public relations periodically since they do not know who the best potential donors will be, and which will be the best way to attract these donors to invest to this organization.
