Business Problem

The woman racial discrimination in work place is an issue that needs to addressed.

The discrimination is experienced in areas such occupational mobility, earnings, and labour force participation rates.

Currently, the levels of discrimination are not known due to the anti- discrimination policies and laws.

Also some studies do not provide explicit information on the actual levels of discrimination.

Therefore, knowledge is required to determine the level African-American discrimination in work place so as to come up with solutions to the problem.

What is the level of discrimination against African-American women in work place?

How does working conditions affect the job experiences among African-American women in work environment?

What areas are prone to the discrimination?

Research objective.

The main purpose of this project is to investigate the work experience of the of an African-American women as compared to other minority group due to their dual status as both minorities and women.

Literature Review

1. Interpersonal and institutional biasness predict the job quality among participants as compared to occupational stressors (Hughes & Dodge, 1997).

2. According to Pew Research Center, a research was conducted on 2,300 participants indicated that individuals in science technology, engineering or math STEM job experience race and gender discrimination which hinders job success.

3. Also, Buchana & Fitzgerrald argues that discrimination is prevalent in most organizations but the discrimination based on gender is a common barrier to success.

4. Shorter (2004) examination of the woman experience of African-American women in different occupation showed that discrimination influences greatly the job outcome.

Theoretical Background

The research will base it findings on social learning theory.

The social learning theory describes the interaction between an individual experience, knowledge and environment they operate and the behavior.

The theoretical basis for this experiment is in the behavior of an employee in an organization . According to the social learning theory, the behavior is acquired through observation and experience of others.

The theory relates to the research on it is conducted. The discrimination is a social issues that need to be well understood to develop the reason for its existence and the possible solutions.

Data Collection

The target population are the working class women of different races conducted through their email address.

The survey method was used to collect the data from the respondent. A template of the survey was designed and send to respondent.

The respondent are to feel the questionnaire developed based on the literature review to collect information pertaining to workplace gender and racial bias.

50 African-American of 21-50 years of age were selected for the study. An inclusion based on race, age, occupation, and length of stay was used.

Data Analysis

a. The univariate analysis is not used since the research does not require descriptive statistics.

The thematic analysis is used to analyze qualitative data collected.

The data were categorized based on the results of each questionnaire

After the categorization the data is broken down to access the individual responses that is used to form the inferential basis.

A conclusion was drawn depending the analysis of the data.
