Business model and major goals
Business Model
The main questions that you need to answer here is “how the mission will be achieved, and how the enterprise will create value.” What are the strategic resources needed, who are the business partners, how will the SE serve its target clients?
You may look at the Business Model for Boaz and Ruth (http://www.boazandruth.com/) as an example. You can use a graph similar to the one they use, along with a narrative to explain your business model. Anyone looking at it should be able to find the answer to the main questions for this section.
When thinking about your SE business model, think about potential threats on the demand and supply sides, and the three key factors for a successful business model: passion for the cause, knowledge, and how to fund it.
Major goals
What are the progress markers along the way to mission achievement. They might be annual service targets, and some specific measures of customer satisfaction. Define about five major goals that you’d like to accomplish in the first three years. They could be financial, organizational, market, or client-related goal. For example, “to serve 100 clients in the first three years of the business, “to enter a second market in XYZ location by year 3,” “to raise $ 500k in year 1, $ 700k in year2, $ 1m in year 3,” etc. To define solid goals, you may use the SMART approach, which states that goals are Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-based.
