Explanation ;

The above diagram was drawn with the aid of Visio drawing software. It is a provides the solution for the weakness for International Plastics Inc’s network as observed in the Albany office. The first thing was to include a redundant source of power supply that would ensure that the network would be operational even during periods of unstable power supply. The network also encompasses strategic placing of switches, routers and bridges which are interconnected with each other to ensure that there is effective and efficient communication between different network nodes and components (Hartpence, 2011). There is also the inclusion of wireless transmission to ensure that employees are connected wirelessly when in the building. Different types of cables are used with the fiber cable being the backbone of the network from which other components are based on. The network protocols encompassed in the design include: straight bus topology, the use of ATM routing and the Ethernet protocol that uses Carrier Sense Multiple Access/Collision Detection (CSMA/CD) in communication. These protocols ensure that there is effective communication and avoidance of unnecessary collisions/broadcasts in the network (Hartpence, 2011).
