Project Overview
Implement a scalable database warehouse that will be used as the central location for data the company is collecting.
Background current process
Describe the background to the project, (same section may be reused in the Quality Plan) include:
The company is growing more and more every day. Therefore, the current 10 terabyte data warehouse is expected to increase 20% each year. As proactive approach proactive, the company would like to implement a new and larger data warehouse. One that can growth the company. To serve a central repository across all departments and platforms
The project goal is to implement a quality central repository for data that doesn’t limit the amount a data that can be stored.
Scope
Scope of Project
The requirement qualities of business procurement are very significant factors when developing a quality information system because upon completion of the user expectations and needs are either exceed or fully met. By fully understanding the expectations of the users and stakeholders, it ensures that information and infrastructure system are properly designed. In order for an organization to have successful business processes, a quality management system is needed to rollout policies and gives a hand with delivering services that are align with what the customer deems as value. The management that enhances better quality procurement requirements, translates the goals and purpose of the organization along with its effective policies. This helps in every duty of the organization are formulated in favor of the company's success (Azeroual, Saake & Schallehn, 2018).
It’s not nothing new when it comes to applying management framework to promote qualities of the procurement requirements. Reducing unnecessary labor costs is a benefit of designing and executing a high-quality efficient information system. Thus, making it imperative the scope of procuring quality business requirements is necessary to protecting and increasing the organizations’ bottom line.
Constraints and Assumptions
Risks
One risk that is possible in procuring quality business requirements is inadequate analysis. It is nearly impossible to meet quality procurement if the quality information system knowledge and expertise doesn’t truly understand the exact need. Some questions to know is who is delivery what is needed, if a certain resource is needed, and at what price is associated to the need. Without this analysis, the information data system's supply chain will look like a mossing bulb in a needed darkroom. The analysis helps to procure quality business requirements by preventing too many purchases of the wrong services and goods needed in the project (Azeroual, Saake & Schallehn, 2018). The constraints of economies of scale offered through poorly negotiated contracts affect procurement strategy and financial planning, which causes a serious hit on the project's expected goals and objectives. The financial assumption of procuring quality business requirements takes time for the initial investment to be recovered.
Scope Control
Every effort must be put forth to control the scope of procuring business requirements when an overview of fixed-priced contracts is becoming and evident need. The Project entity and company enters in to a legal and binding contract that sets the price for services and/or goods, needed for the for the project. The fixed-price controls unexpected cost by laying out all details regarding quality and any associated costs such as shipping cost and any support needed (Azeroual, Saake & Schallehn, 2018). With multiple variations of fixed-price contracts, it's very usual in the scope of procurement business work that is not likely to change or the one which is very clear. Team tracking quality project is elevated. This eliminates the possibility of scope creep. The contractors determine what is considered meeting the project need. Controlling the scope of procuring quality business requirements introduces an irreplaceable impact in quality information systems.
Relationship to Other Systems/Projects
The relationship and integration between infrastructures and systems assist in completing quality requirements where the expectations and needs required in the project are captured to develop infrastructures and information properly. A very important aspect of the data warehouse is information integration. Redundancies and inconsistencies are always possible if not design correctly. This can be resolved or reduced when the data passes from the sources of the application to the data warehouse (Cahyono & Suryani, 2020). Therefore, the warehouse is capable to provide a reconciled and an integrated view of data in the company. Infrastructures in information systems are built upon virtual and physical components that support systems and infrastructure operations. The main goal of supporting the integration of infrastructures and systems is that this method supports the development of mediators who enhance the materialization of the data the warehouse data.
Potential outsourcing creates a repository for the data that is collected beyond the relational database standards. The growth of offshore outsourcing of information system services has been advancing rapidly, leading to a future that is foreseeable through projects. The famous reason for the outsourcing trend is the advantage of the apparent economic cost gained through offshore procurement service. In the evolution of business and procuring quality business requirements, outsourcing is an encouraged natural step that helps settle the need for the project (Cahyono & Suryani, 2020). Potential outsourcing of need makes the organization promote embracement of communication and computer growth, which further advances innovation in technology, and through this procurement, quality business requirements perform well. It facilitates the growth of information systems faster; hence, the information system expands and diminishes talent scarcity in the business.
Staffing is a necessary resource needed in procuring quality business requirements where they play a critical role in service and goods demand contracts. The procurement staffs carry responsibilities and duties that are intrinsic to organizational productivity and profitability. Based on a better staffing team, the liquidity and revenue of the company will perform better, and therefore the department functions of quality procurement will improve. Procurement professionals should be on the frontline of procurement departments to deliver their high skills that ensure that quality procurement business requirements achieve a successful completion (Cahyono & Suryani, 2020). Procurement managers run the department, and they are expected to craft procurement strategies that are effective while still finding cost effective of implementing quality procurement. They work with other stakeholders to establish achievable objectives as well as enforcing procurement policies.
Definition of Terms (if applicable)
The relevant terms to be defined in the project are: Preliminary analysis where a review is done to create a possible solution of quality procurement. System analysis involves system analysts working with different stakeholders’ group. Business requirements refer to the proposed system characteristics of the end-user’s system. The software development life cycle involves documenting business users' business requirements like employees and customers early in the cycle development stage, which acts as a future system guide (Cahyono & Suryani, 2020). The benefits realization makes sure that the planned process will achieve forecasted goals and objectives. System design facilitates taking of requirements documents by a designer design technical details required.
Programming refers to the writing of a programmed document to be used as a guide. Testing incorporates a software program developed to offer a series of tests for the requirement document. Break clause enables contract termination by the buyer without a penalty being imposed (Cahyono & Suryani, 2020). The fulfillment of the business needs through business needs analysis and assessment of specific services and goods. Implementation is can be carried out, when the new system undergoes testing and development to promote quality procuring of business requirements. Maintenance takes the final step after the implementation phase is completed, and the system is updated.
