For the two Videos I choose to watch the one video on Trumpets and other on Tesla.
Tesla is a first mover in the electric car industry. In 2008 the famous Tesla Roadster was the first highway electric car. Tesla has several advantages over its competitors. Some advantages include the batteries that are provide within vehicles. Tesla currently has one of the fastest all electric vehicles. Tesla’s are also the only current vehicle capable with drivers assist to drive on their own. The cars also have doors that open and close for you as well. Elon Musk capitalized with his leadership and technological inventions to be a first mover. Tesla recently announced the creation of the first all-electric truck. Shortly after several competitors jumped on the bandwagon to create an EV truck however tesla is a mile ahead. I feel that the management style in the Tesla video was more of a hands on approach with a Nano management strategy, When Ellon musk was giving the tour he was able to explain every process and help to show the process hands on. I think approach is great because if there issues, they can be addressed and corrected. Also, he tends to not rely on anyone, and he decides to check on things himself to make everything is up and running.
Trumpets were created thousands of years ago. Yamaha was a late mover in this field. However, with instruments being out for years. The company was able to learn from prior mistakes and mistakes of their competitors to create and instrument that would appeal their customers. I felt the management style was hands on in this video. However, it was more of a laid-back approach. Workers were trusted with their tasks at each station and all worked to keep the assembly line moving.
Out of both companies I would choose Tesla to operate in a foreign market. I would choose countries within the Middle East. Ellon musk could create solar charging power stations to make everything self-sufficient and cost effective to operate. With the long distance and the efficiency of electric vehicles it can easily make it cost effective traveling across the desert or areas with little occupation.

Compare and contrast first- and late-mover advantages in the industries described below.
This was an exciting discussion and one that allowed for continued interest. The two companies that were chosen were Tesla and Google. Tesla and an electric car pioneer who promoted clean energy in their products. Google is the ultimate software company who has revolutionized the way computer users search and gather information. While both companies are very successful there are difference then similarities. One way to explain is to look at their first and late mover advantages. “A first mover is a service or product that gains a competitive advantage by being the first to market with a product or service” (Tarver, 2020) They are both use software and coding to perform their business function. Tesla is a mix between human and robot coordination why Google primarily focuses on only human to carry-out the work. Tesla is constantly changing things in their assembly line to speed things up and test whether they are necessary, to put a better product out faster and google constantly updates practices in their global out-reach in the form of security, new products, and customer service.
Describe two management strategies you discovered in each company tour.
One management that was observed in Tesla was micromanaging. Elon Musk himself describes his style of management as micro. Another form of management in Tesla was Nano management or hands on approach. They are big on robots as workers but essentially prefer humans for certain tasks. Elon Musk also new every tiny detail of the entire assembly line.
One management style for google was visionary. They are all about inspiring their teams, especially the interns that just started. Participative is the second type of management style. All the meetings and team functions helped build a more involved dynamic within googles headquarters.
Select one of the companies you reviewed and take the position of an analyst tasked with searching for a new foreign market for the operating segment reviewed in the video. Which country would you recommend and why?
Currently google is available in 219 countries compared to the 30 plus countries Tesla is available. They are two different companies with two different products. Google is best suited for a foreign market. While they are currently available in a plethora of countries, they would be best suited in a country that may be on the rise, that was poor and is now beginning to catch up in technology. It can be used to help its children learn and businesses grow as long they have the proper equipment and connections. Google is also band in certain countries such as North Korea where there is no internet access, Iran and Syria. If these dictator led countries ever freed their citizens, it would be place for google to be available.
