• Choose one of the topics for research out of the suggested list

or propose your own; confirm with the instructor.

• Meet up with your group members and agree on the action

plan, divide work, and assigned a subtopic to each member.

PROJECT DELIVERABLE 1 – PRELIMINARY RESEARCH – 20%

The template will be provided for PD1 with following sections:

Part A (Group)

Rationale – a paragraph highlighting the reasons for topic selection.

Google Trends Report – answer 5 questions related to the popularity of the topic in different

regions of the world:

1. What search term (keyword) was used to get research on? 2. What are the top 10 countries where the search term is most popular? 3. When was the search term most popular in the last 10 years (rising trend; falling trend)? 4. What is the relative popularity of the term in Kuwait (out of 100)? 5. What are some related topics to the search term that might be of interest?

Part B (Individual)

Once students have a group to work with:

• Each narrows down the main topic into a specific subtopic to work on.

• Each student starts searching for reliable information related to the subtopic

and summarizes 2 different sources; thus, presenting two summaries.

• Quality sources should have most of the following: an author, title,

volume/issue number, place of publication, name of the publisher, editor, etc.

• Introduction paragraph (includes) rationale

• A paragraph reporting on Google trends research

• Subtopic headings with student’s name in charge

of the section

PROJECT DELIVERABLE 2 – REPORT

The summaries included in Project Deliverable 1 should be reintroduced adapting them into

the paragraphs of Project Deliverable 2. Overall, each group member should rephrase the

content found in 4 academic sources and present these in minimum 3 paragraphs. The final

report i.e. PD2 follows the APA guidelines and should include:

• In-text citations of the sources

• Conclusion paragraph (suggestions for future

research)

• Reference (20 references in total, 4 per

subtopic)

• Appendix: a survey with 10 questions and

answer options

The last item in the report is the survey document. It should include a title and 10 questions

related to the project topic.

Note that all group members should participate in this task and it is the

group’s responsibility to ensure that no plagiarism is detected and the

format of the report is correct. One member from each group must

submit a soft copy of Deliverable 2 on Turn-it-in on the date specified in

the syllabus OR Moodle course page.
