Select one or two articles that interests you or you find may be helpful to managers. Usually each issue revolves around one coaching topic. Write an executive issue paper to your supervisor or to the head of employee training and development (company of your choice), bringing this article to their attention and why you think it is important.  

Begin your executive summary organized by (1) the issue (topic of article) (2) summary of article and bottom line of article's message (3) relate it to at least one other chapter in the book (strategic planning, international business, teamwork, economics, leadership, managing conflict, management control), decision-making (4) explain why you are bringing this to his/her attention (i.e., would this improve productivity, morale or a current management issue?) (5) why coaching is the responsibility of all managers for developing employees (text, page 253 of your text).

OPTION THREE:  Interview a current trainer of employees, if it is convenient. If you are working in an organization, talk to the training manager or specialist, even if virtually. Has social media changed their way of teaching employees? What other ways has teaching changed? What ways do they make training meaningful for employees? What exercises do they use to increase class participation? How did they get into the Training and Education area and what motivates them? How do they keep current?  What are their company strengths In training? The things they need to improve in company training? Add your own questions about training...be creative.
