1. Scan the three resources regarding Burless.  Do you agree with the court’s decision?  Why would or would not the hospital be responsible for the actions of the physician (the doctrine of respondeat superior)?

2. After Reading the William Beaumont Hospital and Jeri Antilla case consider the following questions.  Do you agree with the decisions made in the Beaumont case with regard to the terminations of Antilla and Brandt?  Why or why not? Do you agree with the decision regarding the provisions of Beaumont’s Code of Conduct and whether they violated Section 8(a)(1) of the National Labor Relations Act?  Why or why not?  How do you think the hospital should have handled the events giving rise to this decision?  How would you have handled if you were the supervisor?
