As we have seen in many recent instances our elected officials charged with this responsibility have in more than a few occasions just “kicked the can” down the road waiting for a better time to take on important decisions. In the last 100 years we have come a long way. For example: Early on when Henry Ford II took over Ford, it is documented that their accounting measures consisted of “weighing bills”. The bills that weighed the most were paid. I bring this up to illustrate the importance of thoughtful considerations when making budgeting decisions.
