Scenario: You are now or will soon be out on the job market, and you must be able to tailor your job application documents to each job listing. For this assignment, you will put together an effective and appealing application packet consisting of a persuasive cover letter and resume geared towards one job listing of your choosing. You will learn to assess, package, and sell your skills (either academic, extra-curricular, or job related) as well as work experience successfully and ethically. The major goals of this assignment is to target a specific position correctly and learn to tailor the application to your potential employer's needs as well as create a professional application packet that is pleasing to the eye.

Guidelines: For this assignment, you will find a professional job listing. This should be a job in the field you hope to enter into upon graduation. You will create a job application package that will include the following:

· Cover letter

· Resume

· Copy of original job listing

The point of this assignment is to practice developing application materials specific to a particular job listing. General letters and resumes will not earn passing grades. You should concentrate on tailoring these materials to the specific job listing you have selected.

Assessment:

· The entire portfolio will be graded on a 100-point scale and worth 10% of your overall grade.
