Task summary

As your coaching strategy has now been approved, you are required to develop a coaching guide to assist with the implementation of the coaching strategy, as well as to provide support to all of those involved in implementing the strategy.

Your guide should include:

· An introduction to coaching, including its purposes and benefits.

· Accountabilities and responsibilities of all involved in coaching as per your coaching strategy.

· Describes legal, regulatory and organisational compliance requirements for coaches.

· Recruitment, selection and induction processes for coaches and trainees.

· Processes for matching coaches and trainees

· Ongoing professional development requirements for coaches, including at least four recommended professional development opportunities for completion during the upcoming 12 months.

· Processes that can be used to resolve differences and problems in the coaching relationship.

· Processes for monitoring coaching relationships.

Your guide should also include supplementary resources including:

· Induction checklist – to guide an initial induction with coaches and trainees so they understand the requirements of the program.

· Coach-Trainee Matching Record – to record the skills of the coach and to explain why the trainee would benefit from coaching.

· Feedback Form for coaches and trainees to give feedback on the program.

Use Coaching Guide Template to guide your work. Your guide should be user friendly so as to ensure maximum usability by coaches and trainees.

Assume that you have also been asked by the client to send out your coaching guide to all staff with a covering email to promote the coaching program and to seek expressions of interest from staff interested in participating in the program.

Part 2

Assume you have received several expressions of interest to participate in the coaching program.

Choose three key areas from the areas you have selected. Think of three individuals that you know that have excellent skills in these three areas and three individuals who you consider could benefit from being coached. The three potential coaches could be staff you know from your RTO, for example, or people you work, or have worked, with. The trainees could be fellow students.

Use the Coach-Trainee Matching Record you developed to record suitable matches between coaches and trainees, and therefore to select suitable participants.

Submit your Coach-Trainee Matching Record to your assessor. Please use the template below:
