Subject: Status of Building Renovations
The renovation of the lobby has been completed and with great pleasure we are pleased to announce that the opening of the lobby will be according to the schedule set. By Monday, October 9, as per schedule the west end of the lobby will be ready to open for the limited traffic for now. The renovation of the remaining end of the lobby is still under process expected to be completed soon. Among the few tasks left in the final phase of the renovation are placing a new marble floor in front of the elevators. The work will be completed soon by the end of the month and the lobby will be furnished and open for more people. For your own safety, it is advised to kindly please exercise caution when moving through the construction area to avoid any risk. The construction area is not yet fully secure as the floor is uneven and steps are at unusual height. In order to be safe kindly watch your step to avoid accidental tripping or falling. However, failure to pay attention to the uneven floor and steps at unusual height can result in injury or worse, so avoid in future and also don’t walk and text or read your phone while moving in this area. Your cooperation will be much appreciated.

Subject: Announcing the Elimination of a Position
Dear Staff,
The company is facing financial problems but the management is trying its best to improve things. As the Annual Report reveals that there is a significant drop down in the sales and the rising production costs have affected the profits badly. The management had to make a very hard decision and decided to reduce the operational costs by laying off an employee from Finance Department.
Unfortunately, Robin from Finance Department is being laid off and as per the contract she has been informed 2 weeks prior so she can find herself a suitable job. Robin is a talented employee and company acknowledges her efforts to keep the Finance Department regulated but the financial conditions of the company have led to this.
The company had the choice of reducing the pay of employees in Finance Department by 10% or let go of one employee so the management took the latter case because in this way all other employees will not be affected. The company is already in turmoil so they don’t want to risk union problems by decreasing their pay.
Robin has been informed and after two months she will no longer be a part of the company. We bid farewell to Robin with good wishes for her future for better opportunities and her presence will surely be missed.
Robin was of great help because she managed files, copied the documents, cover phone and many duties which no longer be performed after 2 weeks. Therefore, all employees are notified to carry out their paperwork and taking calls so it the business process are not affected.
It was a hard decision to let go Robin but now I expect all of you gear up your game to retain the lost sales revenue by working very hard and increasing the profits of the company.
