Ms. Jessica M. Rodriguez 5100 West Flagler St Jewish Health Systems Organization 5200 N2 2nd St
Miami, FL 33134
Dear Ms. Rodriguez,
I am a morning student for chemistry class 1045 at Keiser and pursuing chemistry 1046 course in the organization. I am attending the general tuition reimbursement program provided by the organization. As per the company’s guidelines an employee should take the specific reimbursement classes just outside the regular business hours but some of the classes are happening at evening or after the business hour or even in the weekends.
This specific practice is creating problems for the students to learn more efficiently and it is also violating the rules and guidelines made by the organization.
Please have a look on the specific problem and help us to learn things more efficiently as well as managing the time in a better way.
Sincerely, David Brizuela

Dear John,
Yes, I have heard lately that such a mail was circulated in the office and probably you did not intend to hurt any sentiment. But from the recent developments, I have learnt that many people took offence to the otherwise un-harming email. Under such a situation, I appreciate your attitude to not respond to flame messages because that can lead to serious escalation within the office and turn the environment hostile.
In my personal opinion, making fun of certain section of society because of their uniqueness is not something appreciative. Everybody is entitled to their way of functioning and no one else should have the right to make fun of that. I would not like to tell you what ethical and moral responsibility you have as an individual in the office premises as I believe you are mature enough to understand the gravity of the situation.
Thus, under such a situation, I suggest you drop a formal apology to every recipient of the original mail. Make it clear that it was done without having any malice towards anyone and that you have no agenda for any such thing. This apology should mark the end of this matter and it is my advice not to respond to any such criticism over mail or through any other media.
Looking forward to a happy working environment in the office and to your fullest cooperation.
Thanks & Regards,
David Brizuela

Subject: Usage of non-biased language in written as well as formal communication at office
Dear All,
Our company is doing quite good and as we all know, we need to indulge in a lot of formal workplace communication. This mail is to highlight the importance of usage of non-biased language in official mails, memos, notices and verbal messages.
Our company is a great advocate of diversity and inclusion and we are strictly against any kind of discrimination amongst employees. The case becomes more severe when the discrimination is done on gender basis. In our office, male and female employees are all considered equal – equal in skills, capabilities as well as respect. Recently, there has been a number of complaints regarding usage of gender-biased and sexist language in the formal communication. This is strictly against the diversity and inclusion policy of the company and will not be encouraged at any time.
We need to be sure of the language used, especially at the workplace. I am sharing some sexist communication used and their non-biased versions to facilitate the understanding.
Sexist: Let the girls arrange lunch for the customers
Non-Biased: Let the hospitality team arrange lunch for the customers
Sexist: Martina and Caroline are manning the desk.
Non-biased: Martina and Caroline are in-charge of the desk / are managing the desk.
Well formatted and etiquette business communication enhances the essence of the information. The information can be communicated well. The relationship between the teams increases with effective business communication. This in turn, gets reflected in the enhanced productivity and performance of the company. I hope the objective of this mail is clear and all employees will stop indulging in usage of sexist language in any kind of formal communication. Do contact me in case of any assistance or clarifications.
Sincerely,
David Brizuela,
Director of Communications, ARD INC

How can written communications be bias-free? He went on to elaborate stating that free from biased based communication is speech or writing that tries to consist of people of all ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientations, capabilities, by speaking in a way that makes no assumptions. In order to achieve this, you need to plan your ideas thoroughly and develop them with concepts such as rough drafts etc.
It is the responsibility of the employer to ensure a work environment which is bias-free and inclusive for all employees? Wael said I believe that it is not the responsibility of the employer because the work environment would be composed of professionals in which should with-hold a biased free work place.
What are the challenges when an organization practices valuing diversity? In response, he stated when an organization practices valuing diversity, many difficulties arise. Misinterpreting messages due to different religions, languages, forms or expression.
Why is written communication important? His response consisted of saying written communication is important because it can literally be life threatening. It can cost a person’s life to not be able to have accurate written information which voices exactly what you wish to say and express.
Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of written communication ? His responses to advantage of written communication were that it was easily preservable if required to have some type of evidence regarding an issue. On other hand, a disadvantage he said would include delay in response time to patient needs.
Lessons Learnt from a Physical Therapy Interview with Wael Abufayad
Communication is the most vital tool that professionals in the field of medicine should all acquire in order to be effective when communicating with their patients. This is especially important when the patient has physical challenges and requires physical therapy as a form of medication to get cured. Therefore, through the interview that I contacted a doctor in physical therapy, there is critical information that I learned from the DPT about written communication.
Through the interview, I learned that written communication is very important for a successful process of ensuring that the healing process takes place effectively. For instance, in the incidences when the doctor is not around the patient can effectively follow the written routine written by the doctor to ensure that they conduct the physical therapy successfully without necessarily being helped by the physician. In this case, the patient has only to follow the written instructions.
Communication is vital in all aspects and the doctor emphasized the use of written communication when dealing with physical therapy. Challenges such as the language barrier can also be solved by the use of written communication. This can be used as a tool by the DPT to ensure that the patient understands the entire process being carried out accurately.
I believe that the knowledge I have learned in this interview will be useful in my future career. I will be able to apply all the knowledge through making it habit to write all the processes required. In this case, the processes will enable me to be able to dedicate duties and also plan for the physical therapy sessions in my absence or during their own time for their own benefit.
