Airbnb is a successful hospitality business where hosts rent out their spare rooms or guests houses to customers. This billion dollar company started out as a way for two college kids to make some extra money. It now operates in countries all over the world, and has many hosts and guests. Their business model is based on differentiation and low-costs. Airbnb’s biggest competitors are hotels. They offer lower prices and different room options compared to hotels. An Airbnb could be anything from a spare bedroom in a house to an entire cabin. The whole reason Airbnb started was because there was a gap in demand and supply of rooms during large events. I believe that Airbnb has a strong business model and will continue to grow as time goes on. If Airbnb follows through with a strategic alliance with Uber, and the other strategies that I suggested that will improve their app, they will continue to grow and be successful.
