Submission Details

The aim of this assignment is to familiarise you with the process of submitting an assignment on VLE

as well as with the way the Turnitin platform works. In addition, the assignment contributes in the

development of rapport between Tutor and students as the Tutor is offered the opportunity to learn

about your interests and background.

Worth: 5% of your overall grade

Requirements

 Typed in an electronic format (Word or PDF document)

 Uploaded to the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)

 Document’s name should be your student number and name.

 Cover Page (including Course Name, Your Name and Student ID Number, Title of your work,

Tutor’s Name, Date)

 Length: between 8 to 10 lines.

 By submitting your work you are agreeing to abide by the University’s regulations on

 The Turnitin Terms and Conditions Agreement must be accepted before submitting your

document. (Please read the documents in Week 1 on how to accept the Turnitin

agreement and upload your assignment on the VLE)

 The box on the right hand side of the assignment must be ticked √ in order to proceed to

uploading the next assignment.

Instructions

For assignment 1 you must:

1. write an introduction about yourself, referring to your educational and professional

background as well as your personal interests. Your self-introduction should be between 8-

10 lines.

2. provide the email addresses of the following university support departments:

 Student Support Department

 VLE Technical Support Department

 e-book Support Department

The email addresses should be included in the same document, below your self-introduction.

The contact details of the university support departments can be found in the Support

Departments Information document.

Marking criteria

Element Weight %

 Content: Appropriate relevant information and details. Logical progression of ideas with a

clear structure. The correct university support departments’ email addresses are included.

(70%)

 Writing: Writing is smooth, skillful, and coherent. Sentences are expressive with varied

structure.

(15%)

 Mechanics: Punctuation, spelling, and capitalisation are correct.

(15%)
