Importance of Brazilian Ji Jitsu and how it affects the Mental and Physical Health
Introduction
The Brazilian Ji Jitsu is a defense mechanism that involves grappling individuals to the ground. Unlike the Ji Jitsu itself, which is for combat, the Brazilian Ji Jitsu is for sports. Moreover, Brazilian Ji Jitsu is a perfect sport for people since it has a few injuries compared to other sports such as wrestling and judo. The International Sports Federation should recognize Brazilian Ji Jitsu and incorporate it in the world's Olympics held after every four years. It's helpful to physical and mental health and entertaining the viewers. The paper explains the benefits of Brazilian Ji Jitsu and how it affects mental and physical health.
The Brazilian Ji Jitsu helps individuals think strategically. As a sport, Brazilian Ji Jitsu aids individuals to think strategically whenever participating in the sport. Before an individual makes a step, they must consider the second and third steps before implementing the first. The strategic planning of events enables individuals to think critically and creatively whenever they take that first step. Therefore, the sport plays a significant role in ensuring that individuals' decision-making process is elevated and challenged; thus, they can think and act quickly (Jeffreys, 2019).
The Brazilian Ji Jitsu aids in increasing an individual's strength. Whenever athletes are training for the upcoming events, they develop their motor skills, thus enhancing their power, which aids in improving their healthy life. For example, grappling individuals in the ground enhances one muscle, enabling them to develop a healthy body crucial for the sport. Moreover, the strength acts as the foundation of the athletes as it allows them to continue soring and to grind to achieve more in their sports life. As the athletes are growing old, they already have the strength required to withstand the sport's harsh conditions (Jeffreys, 2019).
Athletes who practice Brazilian Ji Jitsu have a better understanding of their bodies both physically and mentally. While practicing, individuals are involved in meditation sessions, bringing inner peace in individuals, thus improving their mental health (Mercier, 2016). Moreover, having inner peace helps individuals in their daily lives, as they can handle the difficult situations they face in their lives. On the other hand, the individuals' physical health is enhanced in Ji Jitsu athletes' training to increase the body's immunity to resist some diseases. For example, physical exercises prevent conditions and diseases such as heart disease and stroke. The physical exercises strengthen the heart muscles, and ensure proper blood flow, significant for healthy living. Moreover, the physical activities lower the blood flow, thus preventing the body from stroke attack and other diseases associated with the breathing system (Andreato et al., 2013).
Conclusion
In conclusion, Brazilian Ji Jitsu is a health practice since it plays a significant role in enhancing better healthcare for the athletes. Therefore, healthcare institutions should implement the practice for patients suffering from mental and physical health. Moreover, the International Sports Body should consider incorporating the sport in the Olympics after every four years to give people a glimpse of what they miss and avail the sports to all countries across the world—thus enabling different countries to learn this great culture from South America. The Brazilian Ji Jitsu is a great sport; therefore, people should take the initiative and learn the sport since it is not prone to diseases.
