If you could steer your own learning about why war happens, what would you want to study? What interests you about war and/or peace? In what time period? Which people, places or things make you curious or excited to learn?
What might a possible research question or research topic look like for you around war and/or peace?
Notice in the row of questions time period is highlighted. That is where the history part of our interdisciplinary class comes in. Pick specific eras to study, or to compare. Without time boundaries, topics can become unmanageable in our short term.
In your submission, give me your topic idea and a list of possible collections you might use and/or primary sources you have found and/or any secondary sources you might use. It is a preliminary list! Use any digital archive that is associated with an academic or governmental entity to list possible collections look for an online digital archive or other sources of primary documents that are connected to a government or educational institution or even the UN archives. I am always interested in what digital archives are available on the questions of war and peace. Or start off by looking for any primary source books available in the Library you might use for your research.
