Chapter 3 outlines the importance finding a clear and structured topic with enough evidence to accurately focus on the narrowed subject.
Evidence
Find an interest in a subject and narrow it to a topic you can research more thoroughly.
Focus your topic even more to make your research easier to find and understand to make a well-rounded report.
Ask questions about your research and answer those questions with accurate information and make solutions if problems. Ask about the history, structure, composition, and organization of your topic.
Application
The movie Back to the Future (1985 )is a famous film with a catching name that was almost given another one upon release. Because of the sci-fi elements in the film it was almost named “Space Man from Pluto” and that would not given it its witty touch as we know today. When deciding on the name you have to ask what the fans will think initially when first hearing the title. That will be the first impression on your potential viewers and you want to spark their interests and keep them hooked from the very beginning.
Discussion Questions
When you are completely evaluating your questions to fulfill them, what other questions might you ask to make sure any and all answers were given to present all evidence needed?
I think we can agree the right name was chosen for Back to the Future, but does this film and its elements accurately reflect from its title and does it raise anymore questions that you didn’t initially have.
