Book Review- Due April 23th, 2020 on Canvas Write a review for one of the books listed in the corresponding document. In this review you should discuss the book using the concepts and topics covered in class and in the texts and readings. This paper should be no more than 1000 words. Any assertion you make about this book should be supported through citations within the book, as well as supporting evidence from the text and discussions. • Goals. To reflect on the assigned reading in relation to the concepts and ideas covered in this class (e.g. how does it fit into the class, what makes this particular reading relevant).

• General advice. Stay close to the reading; ponder the reading; think about what the reading is saying and their implications. Write about the assigned book in relation to articles and discussions from class. Remember to finish reading the book before you write the RP; thus allow time to think and write before the due date.

• Length. No more than 1000 words, using 12 point Times New Roman font.

• Framework Consider the book review as a learning experience in how to think and write critically. Write in the first person. I want to know what YOU are thinking about the readings. Please give yourself permission to be the "voice" in the book review, although I do ask you to write from the reading.

• When you make a claim (assert that something is "true") you must explain the claim/assertion and "back it up" by reference to data, findings in the readings, to logic, or another source.

• Refer extensively to the reading, to their data and/or themes and claims. Write "from" the evidence in the readings. Reflect on the author's experience and findings, data, interpretations, conclusions and assess the significance of what the author concludes as well as incorporating other readings from class, etc.

• Distinguish your opinion and interpretations from findings or interpretations of the author.

• Your grade will reflect your how well you integrated concepts covered in class as well as how convincingly you supported your assertions.

• Except for the requirements above, you have considerable autonomy in how you’re going to structure the paper.
