Book Report
Purpose: To provide students with an opportunity to read a book that relates to topics covered in the Life Management course and then apply what they have learned in a written paper
Paper Details:
· Minimum 2 full pages long
· Provide a concise summary of the book (in your own words): ½ -1 page long (no more than 1/3 of your total paper)
· In the remainder of the paper (remaining 2/3 of your paper)
· Compare content of book to Life Management class materials and
· Evaluate the usefulness s of the information in the book you read, and
· Describe how the information in your book can be applied to one’s life.
· NOTE: I am looking for thoroughness and critical thinking in your writing.
· Use the rubric/grading sheet at the end of this assignment to guide you as you complete this assignment.
· Plagiarism is NOT acceptable. If you plagiarize, you will receive an F grade (0 points) for this assignment and will be reported to the Office of Student Life for disciplinary action. (See the section in the class syllabus about Academic Honesty, Cheating, and Plagiarism.)
· Extra Credit Opportunity: I encourage you to work with a tutor at Tutorial Services or the Writing Center while you are writing your paper. If you choose to do so, please provide documentation from your visit(s) to receive extra credit.
