What do Kuwaitis do with unwanted purchases (Clothing, Handbags, shoes)?

Facts:

Unwanted purchases tend to be forgotten and not used items that are still in good quality, size and purchased with value , it is known that Kuwaitis keep them dusted in their closets and not use them again if new items are purchased

Consumer Spending in Kuwait increased to 15169.20 KWD Million in 2016 mostly in consumer shopping, Kuwaitis tend to spend daily on luxury expenses such as clothing’s handbags and shoes , as a source of entertainment to fill in voids of lack of things to do in Kuwait and the need to be up to trends and peer pressure .

Reasons:

Wearing old clothing presents the wrong image for many people:

New purchases are source of excitement for many Kuwaitis.

Kuwaitis are often up to trend.

Looking and feeling in style is important.

Buying newly released items is a daily basis thing for some Kuwaitis

High salaries :

People with high salaries tend to spend more daily and forget about old purchases.

Effect of society:

The Kuwaiti society is small people .

Some People go out for dinner daily

Luxury ( clothing , handbags , shoes) mean high-class

Having one of the worlds largest malls ( avenues) with many options .

Effect of social media :

New trends are presented daily

People take selifes daily show off new looks and accessories

Culture :

Family gatherings , national holidays , holidays people dress up to impress.

Unwanted items :

Get passed on to younger family members

Some to charity if not an expensive purchase

Expensive purchases sit in closets for years collecting dust

Used items :

In Kuwait some people have underestimate that buying used or barley used items from other people such as clothing and shoes is not a good image .

Resale App / website: An application/ website designed for people to sell their unwanted items in value

Open a consignment store: people consign items to be sold in store

Unwanted or unused items tend to have value in the market developing an app or opening a store where it’s possible for people to sell any items within Kuwait between a small community would give value for the items not used .
