What is your overall evaluation of the morphological Box as a 'data privacy assessment tool' for the blockchain configuration Hyperledger Sawtooth?

Morphological Box is a technique for producing complete answers to difficult issues. The strategy is to break down the problem logically into several variables/factors for which solutions or ideas can be discovered. The many possible complete solutions can be investigated using the resultant table of part-solutions (morphological box) (Burge, 2016). Many Creative Thinking methods, including Brainstorming, Affinity Diagrams, and Similarities and Differences, are ineffective for generating complex system solutions. They are particularly good at coming up with ideas for pieces of a comprehensive system solution, but not the entire thing. The Morphological Box or Analysis solves this difficulty by breaking down the entire problem into meaningful components from which answers or ideas can be produced. These concepts can then be integrated into a variety of ways to form complete solutions.

The overall evaluation of the morphological Box used by Moriggl et al. (2021) reveals that it Is part of finding the solution to the issue of data privacy that can be encountered on Blockchain technology.  However, it is not the whole solution. For Instance, the author used consortium as a design base that is one out of the possible base available to use, while Consensus, Identity management, Codebase, Extensibility, Security/Privacy, and Transaction capabilities were used in the Blockchain designs. The Elements chosen were part of the core base element of designing blockchain technology.  The selected core elements and design type are just part of the possible solution to tackle privacy on blockchain technology.

2.      How promising the everyday use of blockchain technology is and will be?

Since the debut of Bitcoin, the first decentralized peer-to-peer electronic currency system, in 2008, blockchain technology has advanced significantly. Today, entrepreneurs in a variety of sectors are discovering the benefits of Bitcoin technology. Many industries, from medical to banking, are exploring methods to integrate Blockchain into their infrastructures. Due to its decentralized and trustless nature, Blockchain technology can open up new options and help organizations by providing more transparency, better security, and simpler traceability. The image above demonstrates that Blockchain technology has more promise with ongoing day-to-day usage.  Some of the benefits businesses can tap into, as described by Koksal (2019), include;

1.         Greater Transparency

The fact that the transaction log for public addresses is available for inspection is Blockchain's most distinguishing feature. This adds an unparalleled layer of responsibility to financial systems and organizations, making each sector of the organization accountable to behave with integrity toward the company's development, community, and consumers.

2.        Increased Efficiency

Blockchain eliminates the need for middlemen in many operations, such as payments and real estate, due to its decentralized nature. In comparison to traditional financial services, Blockchain enables quicker transactions by enabling peer-to-peer cross-border payments using a digital currency. In addition, a single system of ownership data and smart contracts that automate tenant-landlord agreements make property management procedures more efficient.

3.        Better Security

As each transaction is encoded and associated with the previous transaction, Blockchain is considerably more secure than conventional recording systems. A computer network comes together to validate a 'block,' which is then added to a ledger, forming a 'chain.' Blockchain is made up of a complex string of mathematical numbers that cannot be changed once created. Blockchain's immutable and incorruptible nature protects it against tampering and hacking. Furthermore, because of its decentralized structure, it has the unique property of being 'trustless,' which means that parties do not need to trust one other to trade safely.

Which one of the methods to achieve an acceptable level of protection of personal data is better, in our opinion, which could be auditable? Why?

According to the Moriggl et al. (2021), four technically relevant audit characteristics, “Data Operation”, “Permissions, Policies, Roles”, “Encryption”, and “Security Mechanism”, will be incorporated into the morphological Box toachieve an acceptable level of protection of personal data is better. Of the four methods highlighted by the author, in my view, I believe “Permissions, Policies, Roles” is better as well as auditable. The reason being that it has more detailed protection controls, which include

a.      Logical Access Controls

b.      Least Privilege

c.       Segregation of Duties

These three controls ensure that all processes are monitored so that whoever needs information has accessed it with principle and system available to ensures legitimate reasons for accessing the information is met.
