Bite Squad Recent Corporate Event

Bite Squad Company has finally completed acquisition and integration of 17 restaurant companies. The company’s strategy was to acquire this entire restaurant so that it it can be able to consolidate its fragmented delivery industry and expand its national footprint to over 30 metropolitan areas across the United States. Also, integrating their delivery experience will enable them to reach as many customers and geographies as possible hence achieving rapid growth and efficiency in its operation. In fact, according to Food Logistics (2017), the CEO of Bite Squad Company said that the company’s platform was to come up with a scale, which will enable the firm to integrate acquisition targets and leverage excellence operation. Moves like acquiring Aloha 2 Go has enabled the company to streamline operation for its consumers and restaurants, and thus the company hopes that with this move they will be able to lower their delivery fees as well as delivery time. However, what remains the key issue is its delivery system. How are they going to improve it?

Bite Squad Company is currently powered by best-in-class ordering, dispatching, and routing technology, which helps thousands of delivery drivers, customer including its customer support providers to experience a faster, better, and more consistent experience at lower charges. The Company has already witnessed growth across cities, regions, and towns. Its technology is recommendable and helpful. However, one can notice that there is no emphasis on the company’s first customer, delivery drivers. The company’s continuous expansion and development across regions and cities are remarkable, but there is a great issue when it comes to dealing with delivery drivers. The issue to the firm is how they will improve their delivery drivers’ experience, as they are also part of the customer base.

In fact, Bite Squad Reviews (2017) indicates the main challenge being faced by the delivery drivers. Among the pros reported by different drivers in the Bite Squad Reviews (2017) are flexibility of schedules, smooth working driver apps, availability of many partner restaurants, the fact that there is no cash-handling, but just doing delivery and cool dispatch individuals. However, it is evident from their reviews that some parts have bad traffic, even though app helps in some instances. Also, some apartment’s complexes are hard to locate, but the office manager is there to help in some instances. Another challenge being face by these delivery drivers is that it is tiresome to the community to a far place and in some instances, a driver has to wait for food to be prepared in the partner restaurant. So what are the options, which the Bite Squad Company can take to improve delivery drivers’ experience?

There are three options which the Bite Squad Company can do to improve the experience of their delivery drivers. They need to improve pay, offer their best-rated drivers paid vacations and provide enough training for them. However, among these three the company has to choose the two topmost concerns, to address first before coming to the last issue. Considering these options in detail is essential. Improving the pay of the delivery has been a problem to some of the drivers. According to Indeed (2017), some delivery drivers complain of low pay with excessive driving while others seem to be satisfied with payment rate. However, addressing these little concerns are vital for company’s future as new drivers come in every day and if the payment rate is poor, they will opt to work elsewhere. However, increasing the pay will mean that the firm will have to find a way of maintaining its profit margin by gathering for increasing pay for the delivery. An advantage to increasing the payment rate is that the company will be able to retain its current best delivery drivers and attract more best performing drivers in the industry.

The second option is offering their best-rated drivers pay out vacation. The job of a delivery driver is stressful and engaging work schedule daily. It is only essential that the firm gives its best performing pay vacation even if its two or three days. Lucas, Suzanne (2017) indicates that paid vacations help both employer and employees. It allows employers to scrutinize the performance of their employee and coach others to follow their footsteps. It also enables employees to regain what they have lost from stressful and exhausting work schedules (Mohn Tanya, 2017). Thus, Bite Squad will reap these benefits and ensure that other drivers are motivated to work at their level best to earn these paid vacations. The disadvantage of this is that it will be hard to have a team to replace the best team which will be on vacation. The last option is offering enough training to delivery drivers. Training will correct delays and quality issues of the delivered food. Training and leave will not be costly as compared to pay increment.

Therefore, the management of the Bite Squad Company has to consider three options to boost their delivery drivers who are part of their customer base. They can either opt to increase pay rate, offer pay vacations to the best rate drivers or offer training to drivers. However, considering several factors, the most vital thing to do is offering training and paid leave to the drivers who are rated as the best annually. It will not be costly, and it will help correct a lot of delivery challenges. Also, training them will ensure that they have necessary capabilities to deliver food in the right quality, a factor which is vital for every consumer.
