INSTRUCTIONS FOR BIOPSYCHOSOCIAL REFLECTION
1. Use the headings provided in the outline on the next page . In fact, you can delete the “NOTE TO STUDENT” inserts and then just use the heading template for your paper. Students are expected to use the headings and points will be deducted if they do not do so.
2. The reflection must not exceed 500 words. If a reflection over 500 words is submitted, the assignment will receive the grade of “F” (zero points). This requirement simulates real-life writing assignments (e.g., a submission to do a presentation at a conference that has a rigid word limit). Once the “NOTE TO STUDENT” inserts are deleted, there are 39 words in the headings. Thus, your written reflection must not be longer than 539 words (i.e., the 39 words in the headings and your 500-word written reflection).
3. In-text citations and references are NOT required and should not be used. However, you should be careful to use terms correctly, based on the textbook, lectures, PowerPoint presentations, and so on. I WILL KNOW IF TERMS ARE NOT USED CORRECTLY AND, IF IT OCCURS, IT WOULD LEAD TO SIGNIFICANAT POINT DEDUCTIONS IN GRADING.
4. Writing style matters! Points will be deducted for grammatical errors, typographical errors, poorly-worded sentences, and so on.
5. DO NOT REVEAL THE IDENTIY OF THE PERSON THAT YOU MAY BE WRITING ABOUT.
6. THE ASSIGNMENT IS DUE NO LATER THAN MIDNIGHT ON THE TUESDAY PRIOR TO THANKSGIVING (11-26). LATE ASSIGNMENTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED, AND AN ASSIGNMENT SUBMITTED LATE WILL RECEIVE THE GRADE OF “F” (ZERO POINTS).
If you have questions, let me know via email. However, if you attended the most recent class, in which we discussed the assignment in detail, and if you read these instructions clearly, I believe that you should be able to understand the requirement.
BIOPSYCHOSOCIAL REFLECTION
A. Briefly Describe Problem or Potential Problem
NOTE TO STUDENT: For this section, briefly (about one sentence) note the problem or potential problem experienced by you, a friend, family member, roommate, peer, or any person you know. DO NOT REVEAL THE IDENTITY OF THE PERSON WHO YOU ARE WRITING ABOUT.
B. Biopsychosocial Contributions
NOTE TO STUDENT: For this section, briefly note the different contributions from each domain (listed below) that are pertinent to the problem (or potential problem) that you are writing about. While in-text citations (nor references) are needed, you should be careful to use terms correctly, based on the textbook, lectures, PowerPoint presentations, and so on. Examples of such terms include: internal factors (i.e., vulnerability factors, resiliency factors, external factors (risk factors and protective resource factors), developmental factors, and so on.

3. Family and Other Social Contributions
