1. Biome name: Temperate/ Deciduous forest

2. Describe locations in the world where this biome exists. Provide the geographic description (location on earth using political and/or geographic boundaries) and the latitude & longitude

· Temperate/ Deciduous forest can be found in the eastern part of North America, most of Europe and parts of China and Japan All of these locations are located above the equator in the Northern Hemisphere.

3. What is the average annual precipitation (rainfall) and temperature (degrees C and F)?

· The average annual precipitation in this biome is around 30-60 inches and the average temperature is 50˚F.

4. How does precipitation and temperature change through the year? For example, when is the peak rainy season or dry season?

· The temperature of temperate/ Deciduous forest’s usually drops to 10˚F in January and reach about 81˚F during summer time. Peak rainy season would be around March time and the dry season is in July.

5. What’s one cool plant that grows in this biome? What is one cool fact about it?

· One cool plant that grows in the temperate/ deciduous forest are the maple trees. One fact about them is that they have broader leaves than normal so they can capture maximum amount of sunlight.

6. What is one cool animal that lives in this biome? What is one cool fact about it?

· One cool animal that lives in the temperate/ deciduous forest is the red foxes. One cool fact about red foxes is during winter they grow thicker fur coats and use them as camouflage.
