Genetic Diversity Genes and Alleles • DNA – is the molecule that contains genes. • Genes are regions of DNA that have the
instructions for building proteins. These genes code for traits, like eye color or flower color.
• Many organisms have more than one copy of a genes. Those copies can come in different forms – alleles.
• For instance, there can genes for flower that can have different alleles for different colors.
