‘Early Intervention for Children with Intellectual Disabilities in Ireland Compared To UK’ |

There is limited research on the aspect of early intervention for the children with intellectual disabilities in Ireland. However, UK has vast knowledge on this topic and there has been major research on this topic. |

The research will contribute to the understanding about the nature of regulations and measures used to enhance the early interventions in children with intellectual disabilities in Ireland.

a. The aims and objectives

The aim of this research is to determine how Ireland has responded to the issues facing children with intellectual disabilities. The research also aims to establish the differences in early interventions in children with intellectual disabilities in Ireland and UK. |
b. The research design

The research will use qualitative and quantitative approaches. The qualitative approaches are meant to ensure that the researcher gets more information about the research topic both in Ireland and UK. The use of quantitative research approach will be to ensure first-hand information is obtained from the teachers in order to establish the gaps and the strengths that are there in this area. |
c. The size and composition of sample

The sample of the participants will consist of both male and female teachers teaching in special education schools. The total number of the participants will be 50 teachers. |
d. Describe how the information is gathered and stored
|
The information will be gathered using questionnaires which will be sent to the participants using their emails. After receiving the filled questionnaires, the researcher will store them using password to ensure no other person has access to the data. |

|
The research will take place in Ireland and especially in the schools dealing with the early childhood education in children with intellectual disabilities. |
