ROGER WILLIAMS PARK ZOO, RHODE ISLAND. 4
The Roger Williams Park Zoo has adopted several marketing tools with the aim of marketing the zoo but to increase brand awareness. The park offered free admission on Black Friday with the hope that the visitors will share the festive spirit with the Providence community by carrying with them non-perishable foodstuffs to help the “Rhode Island Community Food Bank.” The Zoo offered free admission to visitors on Black Friday from 10 in the morning to 4 in the evening. The workforce from Cardi’s Furniture & Mattresses, located at the main parking lot of the Zoo, and was charged with boxing and collecting all foodstuffs. Dr. Goodman Jeremy, the executive director of the Zoo, indicated that this was the third year in succession they had opened the Zoo for free to visitors. The Zoo hoped that by opening on Black Friday, people will be encouraged to go out, relish the fresh air, be with friends and families to enjoy what the Zoo has to offer (Belmore, 2018).
Another marketing tool by the Zoo is, “BOWLING FOR RHINOS.” The Zoo is hosting their 6th yearly Bowling for Rhinos occasion to raise money for habitat and rhino conservation. Not only will the visitors expect a pleasurable evening bowling with family and friends, but further a night which has a deeper influence on the environment. All the money will directly be taken to Lewa Wildlife Conservancy to back white and black rhino preservation; and further to the International Rhino Foundation to back conservation efforts for Sumatran and Javan Rhinos (ROGER WILLIAMS PARK ZOO & Carousel Village, 2020). The event will be held at AMF Cranston Lanes on July, 27 which will be a Saturday at 6:30 pm. The price comprises 3 hours of shoe rental, lanes and bowling. For those who will pay in advance, children aged between 3 and 10 will pay $10 while the adults will pay $15. For those who will pay at the door, children aged between 3 and 10 will pay $10 while the adults will pay $20. However, for kids aged 2 and below, it will be free while as well as for visitors who will not be bowling (Bessette, 2019).
The zoo has a capital campaign like the $10 million campaign of 2016. The campaign was aimed at preserving and improving Roger Williams Park. Consisting of 435 striking acres, presenting a range of educational and recreational chances, representing the state’s diversity of people and rich history, the park has continued to attract peers of Rhode Islanders. The capital campaign was selected to celebrate the sagacity of community the park embodies by returning it to its former society presence and conserving it for forthcoming generations. $5 million of the funds raised was used for instant capital improvements. The premeditated short-term money improvements included: bicycle and pedestrian paths getting $800,000; crosswalks and sidewalks getting $340,000; maintenance buildings, recreational facilities, gazebos, benches, lighting, signage and way finding and park entrances getting $1,100,000; monuments and statuary getting $75,000; storm water management getting $785,000 and structures and building getting $2,000,000.
A further $5 million from the campaign was managed and held in a permanent donation at the Foundation to offer perpetual operating backing for “Roger Williams Park Conservancy” a nonprofit society dedicated to continuing stewardship. Successful instances encompassed the Central Park Conservancy which will operate with the Metropolitan to plan for longstanding success and sustainability, manage marketing efforts, offer fresh community programs and conserve the park. The Botanical Center is rented out on a five-hour foundation. Caterers will get 1 hour for breakdown and 2 hours of set-up with a further hour secured at the rate of $550 for every hour for a thorough going of six hours. The center is open to the public up to 4:00 pm. Reception/ceremony or receptions cannot start until after 5:00 pm. From Monday to Thursday, the non-profit events take place for a maximum of 4 hours ending by 10:00 pm. Those having reception ceremony at the Outdoor Event space or Botanical Center will pay $400.
