Assertive Responses
- “You have decided to interrupt me.”
- “Because of your actions, you have chosen to receive 30 min of detention.”
- “It is your actions that directed me to send you to the office.”
- “You’ve made the decision for me.”

Say, “not gonna give you book definition”
Stress” put all the emphasis on the students’ actions”
Teacher Disposition
- Maintain calm demeanor (even if you are boiling inside).
- Try not to allow a student to see you upset
- Keep voice at low pitch and volume.
- Even if you are angry, maintain the stance that nothing the student can say or do will EVER affect you!
- Discuss, but do not argue with the student.
