Running Head: BEHAVIOR CHANGE PROJECT 1
BEHAVIOR CHANGE PROJECT 2
Background Information of Student
The student I have identified with a problem behavior (PB) is Lauren Karl. I have requested his English teacher to permit me to study his PB with an aim of improving or decreasing it. It is undeniable that Lauren is the only child in his family. He is therefore permitted by his parents to do everything, and anything so long as he does not hurt himself. This therefore points to his PB of invading other students’ personal space or disrupting them in the classroom.
Definition of Target Behavior
The target behavior for Lauren is invasion of personal space of the other students. He is most of the time during the English lesson wandering around the classroom patting students on the back, and or tickling them. He also attempts to take their writing materials, and squeezes his body into other students’ desks.

Hypothesis for Problem Behavior
(Why student do this behavior )
If Lauren is made to focus on assigned tasks in the classroom, instances of invading other student’s personal space will decrease.
Increasing and Decreasing Behavioral Goals, and Short-Term Objectives
(Behavioral objectives ) I post it as Word dox just cope past
The increasing behavior goal for Lauren’s appropriate behavior is that, when receiving lesson instructions, he will stay on task and in his or her desk without wandering to invade other students’ personal space in at least 5 lessons out of the 6 lessons in a week. The baseline for this goal is that, Lauren student currently stays on task and in his or her desk without wandering to invade other students’ personal space in a maximum of 2 lessons out of the 6 lessons in a week. Therefore, the first short-term objective (STO) for this increasing behavior goal is that, when receiving lesson instructions and given an assignment, Lauren will demonstrate staying in his or her desk and on task behavior by staying quietly focusing on his or her assignment and performing the task without wandering to invade other students’ personal space in at least 5 out of the 6 weekly lessons. The other STO is that, when asked to perform a written seatwork task, he will stay doing it without wandering to invade other students’ personal space until it is successfully completed.
On the other hand, the decreasing behavior goal for Lauren’s problem behavior (PB) is that; when receiving lesson instructions, the he will refrain from invading other students’ personal space, bothering them, or altogether disrupting them by patting their backs or tickling them when they are engaged in the learning process to a maximum of 1 instance of distraction in the 6 lessons of a week. The baseline for this is that, Lauren currently disrupts other students by wandering, invading their personal space, patting their backs and tickling them in 4 out of the 6 lessons in a week. For this decreasing behavior goal, two STOs will be aimed to be achieved. The first STO, is that; when receiving lesson instructions, the Lauren will refrain from touching other students with any body part including squeezing throughout the lesson to an acceptable level of 1 instance of touching others or squeezing himself to other students’ personal space in the 6 lessons in a week. The second STO is that, when receiving lesson instructions, Lauren will have no permission to invade other student’s [personal space or disrupt them at any time during the lesson period in the 6 lessons in a week as measured by the teacher’s observation.
Positive Behavior Change Program Based On the Behavioral Objectives
It is imperative to note that Lauren’s wandering behavior consequently invading other students’ personal space is not only disruptive to the other students, but also reduces the efficiency of the teacher in teaching the other students. Therefore, the following interventions are suggested:
For the increasing behavior goal, Lauren will be required to stay in his desk, and quietly focus on his or her assignment and perform the task without wandering to invade other students’ personal space until it is successfully completed.
For the decreasing behavior goal Lauren will be required to refrain from touching other students with any body part including squeezing throughout their desks.
Implementation of the Positive Behavior Change Program
In order to successfully implement the behavior change intervention program, the teacher lets Lauren know that his wandering behavior invading other students’ personal space will not be rewarded. The teacher will record the number of times, Lauren stays on his desk doing assigned tasks, as well as the number of times, he wanders around the invading other students personal space. As an incentive to discourage the wandering or invasive PB, Lauren will receive 5 points for each lesson he does not invade other students personal space.

Analysis of Results and Explanations
As noted in the tables, and graphs, the introduction, and implementation of the behavior change program allows Lauren to reduce instances of invading other students’ personal space through wandering in the class, patting their backs or tickling them. Imperatively, if made to focus on assigned tasks in the classroom, the instances of invading other student’s personal space decrease significantly proving the hypothesis to hold true. This means that, if Lauren is preoccupied with some activity in his desk in the classroom, chances of him wandering, and invading other students’ personal space are reduced.
