PROJECT MANAGEMENT PRACTICUM
Before the term begins:-
1. Read the unit profile on the top left of this page.
2. Schedule study time to work on your project and assessments.
3. Attend weekly workshops,
4. Monitor News Forum and email for important messages.
5. The unit is broken into six themes, each covered in two week lots.
6. Ensure you review the Workshop Guides prior to attending each workshop.
7. There are no PowerPoint slides or lectures and the workshop format may seem unfamiliar and possibly uncomfortable. Teaching staff will be present to oversee the workshop, provide guidance and advice.
8. There are two forms of assessment during the practicum, summative and formative. Summative assessments are marked and the sum of these form your final grade. Formative assessments are not marked, they are used to indicate how you are performing throughout the unit and may be used by markers when they are marking summative assessments.
9. Many assessments are during workshops and will flow into each other, therefore attend and attempt all assessments. Only students present during the assessment will receive marks, including group assessments. Apply for extensions via Moodle immediately.
10. Responses collected within assessments submitted within this unit may be used for the purposes of future research and also to inform quality e.g. informing how we can improve the way we teach project management and related topics. If they are used in future research, names will not be used or included in any publications. If you would like to opt out you can do so by sending an email to Natalie Ewin, stating this. You are able to opt out at any time (including after finalisation of grades) and prior to the inclusion of any de-identified data. There is no penalty in opting out. Any data considered for future research will only be used after ethics approval has been granted.
